You upload the manuscript you already have — EPUB, DOCX or PDF. What comes back is an M4B with chapter markers, plus every chapter as its own MP3, so you can hand a distributor whichever shape it wants. There is no streaming-only tier and no player you have to keep an account for: the deliverable is files.

You own it, and you can sell it anywhere — Kobo, Spotify, Findaway, Patreon, your own store, bundled with the ebook. We claim no exclusivity and take no cut of a sale. That is the whole reason to use this rather than a free narration that only sells inside one retailer's store. We are still finalising the written terms that say this formally; if you need it in writing before you publish commercially, email ceo@theappmakerpro.com and we will put it in writing.

Because of where the audio ends up. KDP Virtual Voice is genuinely free and genuinely good enough for many books — but it needs an existing Kindle title, and the audiobook it makes sells through that one store. Here you pay for the render and the files come back to you, so the same book can go to Kobo, Spotify, Findaway, your own site, or all of them. If Amazon-only distribution suits you, use theirs; we are not going to argue with free.

Yes, and it costs nothing. On the review screen every chapter has a preview control: pick one of the 3narration voices, press it, and you get that chapter's opening narrated for real by the same engine that will render the book. Previews are free and unmetered — they do not touch your credit balance. There is a rate limit so one account cannot monopolise the GPU, but it is generous enough to audition every voice on several chapters.

Yes — that is what the review screen is for, and it happens before any money moves. Chapter detection is a heuristic: a cover page, a copyright notice or a table of contents can come through as its own chapter, and we flag the ones that look like front matter so you know where to look. You can rename, merge, split and delete chapters, remove all the flagged ones at once, and undo any of it. Everything autosaves, and the quote at the foot of the screen re-computes as you edit, so the price always matches the book you actually have.

Credits are debited when you confirm the quote, not when the audiobook finishes. If the render fails on our side — a provider outage, a mastering error — or you stop it yourself, the full cost is refunded, automatically, as its own entry in your credit history.

A manuscript we cannot read never gets that far. Parsing happens before any quote exists, so a file that fails to parse costs you nothing at all — the review screen says what went wrong and invites you to re-export and try again.

Rendering continues on our servers — a full-length novel is hours of audio and is produced chapter by chapter, so you are not expected to sit and watch it. Come back to your library and every book shows where it is.

It is private, and no. Your file, the chapter text, your cover art and the finished audio are all stored with public access switched off — a book is never served on the public internet, never shared with another user, and never listed or indexed by us. Your text is sent to a narration service to be spoken and for no other purpose: it is not training data, ours or anyone else's. The full detail is on the privacy page.

Not for a book yet. Books are narrated with our stock voices today, and you should not buy credits expecting otherwise.

The machinery is in the app and works: at Create a voice you can record or upload at least 60 seconds of yourself speaking plus a short spoken consent clip, and get a cloned voice private to your account. A clone costs 150 credits ($4.50) and you can keep up to 3at a time. What is not connected yet is the book render, which is why we do not sell it as a feature. Only clone a voice you own or have the narrator's permission to use.

It is kept as the record that you agreed to have that voice cloned, stored alongside the exact sentence you were asked to read. It has to be recorded in the browser and cannot be uploaded, and if you rename the voice you will be asked to record it again so the clip and the stored sentence always match. Deleting a voice removes the voice from the provider, its public preview, and your raw sample recordings — the consent clip is deliberately retained, because it is the evidence for a clone that existed. Not yourself, yet. Cloned voices can be deleted from Your voices, but a book and its audio currently stay in your library. Email ceo@theappmakerpro.com and the manuscript, its text, its cover and its audio are deleted by hand — a manuscript gets no retention exception.

Three things, so you are not left hunting for them. Confirming a quote and paying from the review screen is not wired up — the screen prices your book exactly and saves your chapter edits, but the button that spends the credits is not connected to it yet. Downloading the finished files from the site has no page either. And narrating in a cloned voice is not connected to book rendering.
